Today I Celebrate You

My dear son, on this Mothers Day, I celebrate You.

I thank You for filling my life with joy & love,

wonder & excitement and energy abound

I thank God for his gracious gift of You

He chose me to be your nurturer & protector, parent & teacher.

These duties I carried out with much love and jubilation

Though there may be distance between us now, it matters not

For our souls are bound together in heart & thought

I hold you close to my heart every day and night

I share you with others as often as each moment permits

Allowing the listeners to know your kindness & wit

You were an exceptional young man indeed,

One whom I am honored to have called me Mom.
